Hints for Cleaning the Bathroom

Clean a toilet:Drop in two Alka Seltzer tablets, wait twenty minutes, brush and flush.
Clean mirrors: Use air freshener. It does a good job and better still, leave a lovely smell to shine.
Clean mold and mildew from caulking and grout: Thoroughly soak paper towels with bleach. Place the bleach soaked paper towels all around the grout and caulking. Leave them for at least an hour, if not more. When you come back, remove the paper towels and enjoy your clean, white grout!! PS Be careful to avoid getting bleach on your clothing and make sure the windows are open!
To create a fresh, clean aroma in the bathroom, toss a sheet of fabric softener in the wastebasket. Or dab a bit of perfume on a light bulb. It floods the room with scent when the light is turned on.
Replace expensive glass cleaner with a solution of ammonia and water. Use it on your mirrors, glass surfaces, and any other areas you'd normally clean with glass cleaner. You'll find ammonia and water streak less. If you want an easy way to eliminate streaks completely, wipe off your ammonia and water solution with old newspapers. Don't worry about the newsprint. It won't come off. Surfaces dry clean and streak free!
If your shower head is covered with mineral deposits, here's an effortless way to clean it in two hours or less. Remove the shower head and soak it in a 50/50 solution of humidifier cleaner and water. (You can buy humidifier cleaner at full-service hardware stores.)You need only enough of this solution to cover the face of the shower head. After letting it soak for a couple of hours, rinse the shower head well and reattach it.

Clean shower doors quickly and easily. Wipe with a used, DRY, dryer sheet (such as Bounce but any dryer sheet will work). It removes soap scum effortlessly!
Clean stainless steel (like your household faucets) effortlessly. Put a little bit of rubbing alcohol on a sponge or paper towel and wipe. Faucets will sparkle! |
